Wisteria House was built in 1874 and is a 'Classic Heritage' home built with mellow brick walls that encompass a stylish restoration enhanced by elegant Victorian decor, contains generously proportioned rooms and is still faithfully reminiscent of these times. Complete with chimneys, bay windows, large front verandah with slate steps to the entrance & many slate pathways, Wisteria House offers superb 'Inn-House' Bed and Breakfast accommodation that is strictly limited to only two couples at any time to ensure maximum guest privacy and relaxation.

Unique wooden verandah fretwork features at the front of the house, stained glass windows decorate the entrance leading into a long, wide central hallway with polished floorboards and rugs. Inside is the world of grandeur living in Victorian times.

Wisteria House is less than 5 minutes walk to the centre of town, with amazing Gold Mining Era buildings to enjoy, shops, restaurants, galleries, taverns, the Theatre Royal, and parks. The nearby 'Castlemaine Botanical Gardens' offers wonderful walks amongst the large trees, rose garden, arches and Lake Joanna. Wineries, antique centres and relaxing drives in breathtaking scenery also await. Like the outdoors? Gold-prospecting, walks and outdoors activities, mountain bike trails amongst the unique gold mining and natural heritage of the surrounding bushland may be more your style. The choice is yours!
